The biggest Hollywood production filmed in Taiwan to date is the 1966 hit "The Sand Pebbles," starring the "King of Cool," Steve McQueen. But, Steve and the crew nearly lost their cool in the winter of 1965-1966 in Taipei and Keelung lived up to its reputation for rain, rain, and more rain. Read along as Formosa Files tells an incredible story of a movie set that was so tough, McQueen later said that "all the bad I've ever done in my life, I paid for on that shoot."
